First Grade Students Keep His Dream Alive
On Friday, January 13, first graders at Vaughan Elementary School kicked off the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday through a skit, songs, and poems.
Vaughan Elementary School is one of many schools across the county remembering Dr. King in a variety of ways.
Six Prince William County students will be competing in the 16th Annual Martin Luther King Youth Oratorical Contest on Monday, January 16 at Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge. Speakers at schools throughout the county competed for a spot in the contest, with a total of six finalists being selected. The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and its Education Foundation, in collaboration with Hylton Memorial Chapel Foundation, sponsor this event.
