EDUCATION FOUNDATION SALUTES PWCS' BEST

Principal and Teacher of the Year honored

Diana Lambert-Aikens from West Gate Elementary School is the 2005-06 Principal of the Year. Bill Willis from Gar-Field also received a banner for being the 2005-06 Teacher of the Year.The Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation recently honored the 2005-06 Principal and Teacher of the Year at two separate banner presentation ceremonies. The events saluted Diana Lambert-Aikens and William Wesley Willis, Jr. for their achievements and for their continued dedication to the School Division and its students.

“It’s our way of commending these outstanding educators and letting them know that we are paying attention,” says Susan C. Harman, Executive Director of the PWCS Education Foundation.

Joining Harman at the podium for both events were School Board Chairman Lucy S. Beauchamp and Superintendent of Schools Steven L. Walts. David Hish, Vice President of the Education Foundation and Area I Associate Superintendent Alison Nourse-Miller joined the group for the Principal of the Year presentation. Barbara Rohr, a West Gate Elementary School Teacher who nominated Lambert-Aikens for the award, was also on hand to address the crowd.

School Board Member Grant Lattin (Occoquan) spoke at the presentation ceremony for Bill Willis, along with Gar-Field High School Principal Roger Dallek.
