PROPOSED SCHOOL BOUNDARIES

Boundaries To Be Set for New “Somerset,”“Princedale," and "Four Year Trail" School Sites

'Princedale' site

The Boundary Planning Committees for "Somerset " and "Princedale" elementary schools, and for "Four Year Trail" middle school, are holding community meetings to let the public review and comment on proposed school boundaries. Schools are slated to open in September 2006.

"Somerset"

Located at 10511 Wharfdale Place, Gainesville, the new school in the Somerset community is likely to affect boundaries for Alvey, Bristow Run, Glenkirk, Mountain View, and Tyler elementary schools.

'Somerset' siteThe first “Somerset” meeting is scheduled for December 7, 2005, at 7 p.m. at Mountain View Elementary School, 5600 McLeod Way, off of Lightner Road in Haymarket. A second community meeting on the “Somerset” boundary proposals will be held January 11, 2006, at Glenkirk Elementary School, 8584 Sedge Wren Drive, Gainesville.

The Boundary Committees, composed of parents from areas likely to be affected by boundary changes, will continue to meet weekly through mid-January.

"Princedale"

A rescheduled community meeting on boundaries for the “Princedale” elementary school will be held Monday, December 12 at 7 p.m. at Saunders 'Princedale' siteMiddle School, at 13557 Spriggs Road, Manassas, VA. A second “Princedale” meeting is set for January 9, 2006, at McAuliffe Elementary School, 13540 Princedale Drive, Woodbridge.

The new “Princedale” elementary site is at 13446 Princedale Drive in Woodbridge. Re-drawn boundaries will likely affect students from Coles, King, Marshall, McAuliffe, Penn and Westridge elementary schools. Details on the “Princedale” proposal are at http://www.pwcs.edu/planning/Princedale.

“Four Year Trail”

Located at 3130 Four Year Trail, Dumfries, boundaries for the new middle school will likely affect Godwin, Graham Park, Lake Ridge, Lynn, Rippon, and Woodbridge middle schools.

'Four Year Trail' site

The first “Four Year Trail” meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Godwin Middle School, 14800 Darbydale Avenue, Woodbridge, VA 22193. A second community meeting on the middle school boundary proposals will be held January 17, 2006 at Williams Elementary School, 3100 Four Year Trail in Dumfries.
