Proving that their interest in children and education extends above and beyond job requirements, Superintendent of Schools Steven L. Walts and Keith Imon, Associate Superintendent for Communications and Technology Services, were recognized by the Kiwanis Club for their outstanding community service in Greece, New York.

Both men were presented with plaques honoring them for their service to the local chapter in Greece, and for their work to provide activities for youth with special needs.

Dr. Steven L. Walts“It is an honor to be recognized by Kiwanis, doubly so as they’ve gone to such effort to present this award,” says Walts. “But the biggest honor was having the chance to work with such a committed group of individuals. The good work they provide in their community really makes a world of difference.”

Imon adds, “Working with the Kiwanis Club is truly a rewarding experience. Getting involved in Prince William County will be very exciting.”

The presentation took place at the local Manassas chapter of the Kiwanis Club, who awarded the plaques on behalf of the New York group. Kiwanis is a global organization of service volunteers dedicated to “changing the world one child and one community at a time."
