From Our Principal
Time is fast approaching to share the excitement of another fascinating school year at Old Bridge Elementary. From the moment you walk through our doors, we know you will feel the energy and enthusiasm of children learning and sharing and using the Ways to be at OBE to guide the way. Be respectful, be responsible, be a good listener and be safe are our four basic rules.
Our highly qualified staff members are committed to the total academic growth and development of our students. Children who have excellent attendance, complete homework regularly, and are prepared daily to learn excel at Old Bridge.
We can't say enough to express to you the strength of the Old Bridge staff. Our teachers are praiseworthy for their excellence and their commitment to children. Our teachers:
- Pursue advance degrees and staff development
- Teach courses for local colleges and universities
- Provide staff develop for other Prince William County teachers
- Provide Instructional Consultation for teachers who need support
- Apply for and receive numerous grants to supplement our literacy program
- Collaborate within and across grade levels weekly
- Are the reason we are a recognized School of Excellence for six consecutive years
- Act as cooperating teachers for student interns
- Participate in action research
In partnership with George Mason University, Old Bridge Elementary is a Professional Development School. Student teachers and university staff enrich our learning community and provide additional support for students.
The school vision/mission “Community of lifelong learners committed to the highest expectation for all students through the collaboration of students, teachers, and parents” reflects our commitment to lifelong learning and our interest in working in partnership with parents. We hope that our public website, monthly newsletters, and the Edulink communication system will aide in keeping the lines of communication open.
Mrs. Pankowski , who was an Administrative Intern is now the Assistant Principal. We are all excited to have Mrs. Pankowski continue serving on the Administrative Team.
