about Bristow Run Elementary School
1.What time does school start?
Students should be in class by 9:00 a.m. Students are allowed into the school building at 8:45 a.m. They will need to wait in the gym until the first bell. The first bell rings at 8:50 a.m. At this time students are allowed into their classrooms. Students are considered tardy after 9:00 a.m. Afternoon Kindergarten students start school at 12:15 p.m.
2.What time are students dismissed?
The first dismissal bell rings at 3:25 p.m. Morning Kindergarten students leave at 12:15 p.m.
3.When does the Bristow Run Advisory Council Meet?
The Advisory Council meets at 6:30 pm on the first Thursday of each month in the library. You can access the Advisory Council page from the main menu.
4.When does the Bristow Run PTA meet?
The PTA board meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the school library. Often a school program is planned to follow the general PTA meeting. You can access the PTA page from the "Parent" Section.
5. How do I inform the school if my child is going to be absent.
You can call our 24 hours a day Absence message center by dialing our phone number 703-753-7741 at any time of the day or night to leave a message. During school hours, one of our office staff will take a message for you. It is very important to call into the school whenever your child is absent. It helps us know where your child is. We call all parents of any student who is not at school unless we have heard from them in advance. Please remember to send in a note when your child returns to school.
