2000-2001 School of Excellence

Achievements which enabled Antietam to be selected as a School of Excellence were the following:

• At Antietam teachers used a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to accommodate varied learning styles.

Administration and teachers realigned the curriculum to better meet instructional needs. As a result, initiatives were developed that included Reading Recovery, Accelerated Reader, and Gifted and Talented programs.

Antietam has a strong family-school partnership--an involved Advisory Council, PTA, and volunteer program.
