Carrie Gahagan, instructional technology coach at John D. Jenkins Elementary School, has been selected to serve on the Discovery Education Leadership Council for the 2019-20 school year. The council is part of the Discovery Education Network (DEN). After attending the Discovery Education Network Summer Institute (DENSI) in Ogden, Utah, this past summer, Gahagan submitted her application to the council.

As a member of the Leadership Council, Gahagan will attend monthly online meetings to share ideas and solicit advice about collaborating with other educators. “I will serve on the committee, lead hosting events, contribute to social media and the Discovery Education blog, create instructional resources, and provide feedback on Discovery Education’s services,” said Gahagan.

Gahagan completed the DEN Ambassador training through the Department of Instructional Technology and says that attending DENSI was, “the most rewarding learning opportunity, personally and professionally in my 17 years of teaching.”

Prince William County Public Schools is proud to be represented on the council by Gahagan.
