FORT BELVOIR, VA (Oct 8, 2009) - Woodbridge Senior High School (WSHS)Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets support the U.S. Army Materiel Command celebrate the full operational capability of the Army Contracting Command (ACC) which will oversee more than $85 billion in contracts annually and focus on maintaining and improving the Army's ability to respond globally in support of war fighters' needs. The Army's first female four star general, General Ann E. Dunwoody, AMC Commander, hosted the ceremony which represented the culmination of two years of planning and execution. General Dunwoody is pictured talking with the WSHS JROTC cadets, giving them guidance on leadership and citizenship. The cadets served as ushers to the distinguished guest, which included General Officers and Secretary of the Army level senior service executives.

Prince William County Schools offer Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines at eight high schools. Students wishing to participate in one of these programs shall enroll in the JROTC program of the school for the attendance area in which they reside or in the program to which their school is assigned. Students are encouraged to enter the program in the ninth grade in order to receive the full benefits of the four-year program. Applications are available at the program locations. |
