Albert Smith - Freedom High School Kris Nelson - Osbourn Park High School Ms. Nelson is in her sixth year at Osbourn Park High School. She has a BA in Theatre Education and is currently working on a Master's degree in Theatre Education with an emphasis in technical production and design at Southern Oregon University. Jennifer Haas - Hylton High School Ms. Haas is new to the faculty at Hylton High School and to the Drama program. Theatre has always been her passion. Her grandmother nicknamed her "Sarah Heartburn" after Sarah Burnhart. Caren Hearne - Woodbridge High School Ms. Hearne has a BA in theatre from Shenandoah University . She is currently a member of the Actor's Equity Association and has been performing professionally for over 20 years. Ms. Hearne has had roles in "Meet Me In St. Louis" with the Troika Organization and "Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day " with the Kennedy Center Youth and Families. Her most memorable performance was as Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls" for a seven month tour in Europe Ellen McKinstrie - Woodbridge High School Mrs. McKinstrie received her B.F.A in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University and her M.Ed. from George Mason University. She has performed in Theatre for over twenty years. Among her favorite roles were Adelaide in" Guys and Dolls", Liz in "The Philadelphia Story", Robin in "Godspell", Catherine in "Pippin", and Truvy in "Steel Magnolias". She received the Best Supporting Actress award in the NVTA one act-competition for her role as Suzanne Lachette in" F.M". Mrs. McKintrie owned her own casting company for non-union work and has appeared in many industrial films in the area and several national promotions. She made her film debut as Sarah in "Twilight of the Dogs: a New Genesis". Gala Myer - Stonewall Jackson High School Lori Spitzer - Forest Park High School Originally from southwestern Virginia, Ms. Spitzer received her Bachelor's Degree in English and theatre from Roanoke College. This is her second year at Forest Park working with the students in the Drama Club.

Nancy A. Gross - Dance Instructor Nancy A. Gross received her B.F.A in Dance from George Mason University. "Cecchetti Council of America" and "Dance Masters of America" recognize Nancy as a certified instructor of dance. Nancy's early training includes the American Ballet Theatre School, the Joffrey School and Alvin Ailey School. As a member of GMU's Dance Company, Ms. Gross performed original and repertory works by choreographers such as David Parsons, Stephen Koplowitz, Doug Elkins, Danny Buraczeshi, Deborah Thayer, and Boris Willis. While at George Mason, she earned awards and scholarships for "Excellence in Academic Endeavors" and "Excellence in Performance". Ms. Gross' dance students have been selected and received scholarship to study at Jacob's Pillow, Governor's School, Columbia City Ballet/South Carolina Summer Program, and the Cecchetti Summer Intensive Program. Her students are continuing their dance instruction at James Madison, Randolph-Macon, Old Dominion, North Carolina School for the Arts, Towson State, New York University/Tisch School of the Arts, William and Mary and the University of Virginia. |
