Media Production Services

The Office of Media Production Services provides support for the integration of video, cable programming, teleconferences, instructional materials, and multimedia throughout the school division.  The department produces a variety of professional communications for distributing information and materials to students, teachers, staff, parents and the community.

TELEVISED PROGRAMS USE OF STUDENTS IN PHOTOS AND VIDEO
  • The department produces School Focus, a  news program about the school division airing daily  in selected slots on PWCS-TV Channel 18

  • Inside Education, a PWCS-TV Channel 18 original program, offers an in-depth look at major initiatives and keeps the community updated on important school division matters.

  • Media Production Services televises all public School Board Meetings LIVE on PWCS-TV.  School Board Public Meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month and they begin at 6:30pm.

Pictures are a vital part of telling the PWCS story.  According to current policies and regulations, photographs and video images of any student engaged in school activities may be produced and used in any School Division program, publication, or exhibit, if deemed appropriate by the principal or other School Division designee. Photos, images and video may also be authorized for use by external entities, such as the news media and scholarship providers, so long as this is in the best interests of students, the school, and School Division, and complies with other regulation guidelines. Any parent wishing to avoid use of student photos and images by external organizations may fill-out and submit an opt-out form.  The form, along with the complete text of the relevant regulation (790-4), may be found by downloading the Opt-out Form.  Copies may also be obtained through the schools.
