Parents of Prince William County Public Schools students are reminded that the transfer request process for
the 2012–13 school year has begun. Requests for transfers must follow all guidelines as defined in Prince William County Public Schools Regulation 721-1, “School Attendance Areas.” View the transfer request information and regulations on the Student Services Web site
. Parents may obtain a copy of the Student Transfer Request form
online or at their child’s base school and are encouraged to submit requests as early as possible to allow adequate time for principals to process requests prior to the April 30, 2012 deadline.
April 30 is the deadline for school principals receiving student transfer requests to notify parents of approval or disapproval of these requests for the 2012–13 school year.
May 17 is the deadline for submission of parent appeals in writing for disapproved student transfer requests to either the School Division’s Supervisor of Elementary Counseling and Related Services (grades K–5) or the Supervisor of Secondary Counseling and Student Support Services (grades 6–12).
June 30 is the deadline for submission of final parent appeals in writing to the director for the Office of Student Services for those appeals denied by the supervisor of Elementary Counseling and Related Services, or the supervisor of Secondary Counseling and Student Support Services.
