Tanisha Holland appointed to chair national committee

Tanisha Holland, equity and compliance officer for PWCS, has been appointed chair of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) Minority Caucus Committee. This committee serves as the collaborating body for joint action on minority issues of common interest by advocating for the election, appointment, hiring, promotion, and recognition of minorities to positions of influence.

Holland has been a member of the AASPA for three years and has served on the Minority Caucus Committee for two. Holland says she looks forward to expanding the committee focus to encompass all diversity concerns, with the goal of raising awareness nationwide about equity and inclusion issues in the workplace.

Holland shared, “Having the opportunity to chair this national committee means that PWCS will not only be a voice at the table, but the voice leading the conversation.”

Holland has over 20 years of experience in the areas of equity, leadership, communication, program development, and talent identification and selection. Prior to joining PWCS in 2016, Holland led Fairfax County Public Schools’ recruitment efforts. She also served as the admissions director for Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology; program manager for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s College Scholarship Program; and associate director of admissions at American University. Holland holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and minor in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in Spanish Studies from American University.
