The school was named for Fred M. Lynn, a community leader and a member for thirty-seven years of the Prince William County School Board.

Fred Lynn hosts a foreign language specialty program. This program allows a student to receive one high school foreign language credit for work done in the sixth and seventh grade and one high school credit for work done in the eighth grade. The languages offered are French and Spanish.
Partnerships
Fred Lynn has a partnership with Radio Fiesta 1480am and students develop positive public service announcement s. They improve their public speaking and language arts skills.
We expect to expand the effort to include an on-air student program.
Fred Lynn has a complete middle school athletic program. There were championship athletic teams in all sports for boys and girls.
The dance and cheerleading teams have consistently been award winners.
Family Fun Nights, SOL Family Nights, Fall for the Arts, Musical Ensembles along with the traditional PTA, School Advisory Council and Latino Focus are means for community involvement.
Fred Lynn is a school that meets the needs of a very diverse population of students and parents. By working together as a team of teachers, parents and students, we will continue to be successful.
