| ABOUT WILLIAMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL |
|
Williams Elementary School opened its doors in September 2004. We currently serve communities along Cardinal Drive, Rt. 1 just south of Neabsco Creek, and Princeton Woods. As development continues, we will also serve the new Port Potomac, Eagles Pointe, and Four Year Trail communities. Our school is named in honor of the late Mary F. Williams. Mrs. Williams was a Prince William County teacher for 19 years, as well as a school board member for the Neabsco district. |
| ENRICHMENT & SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
Williams Elementary houses grades K – 5, Special Education Preschool program, Autism and Emotional Disturbance classes, LD Resources, Speech, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), and an on-site Gifted Education Program. We also participate in the Scholastic Reading Counts program which is a computerized reading program similar to Accelerated Reader.
|
| OTHER PROGRAMS |
Our morning news is broadcast live into every classroom from our production studio. This is an opportunity for students to be in front of the camera or working behind the scenes.
|
| OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT |
Parents at Williams Elementary are encouraged to participate in our active PTO and Advisory Council. Both meet once a month. The PTO sponsors Family Night, Ice Cream Socials, and other events to show their support of the children at Williams. Our school has also formed a partnership with Potomac High School. The students have participated in events such as field day, choral ensembles, read aloud, and holiday celebrations. The high school students have a positive influence on the students at Williams which gives them something to look forward to as they continue their educational journey down Four Year Trail. |
| WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE? |
|
Our school is unique because we support and provide a strong academic foundation for our students. They are self-directed, life-long learners who strive to do their very best. They are on the prowl to success. |
