ABOUT PARKSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Parkside Middle School opened its doors in 1963 as a combination elementary and junior high school housing 1500 students in grades K-9. A 3-year renovation was completed when Signal Hill Elementary opened and Parkside became strictly a middle school.

Communities Served:

Students come to Parkside primarily from Bennett Elementary, Signal Hill Elementary, Yorkshire Elementary, and Loch Lomond Elementary boundaries.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Parkside Middle School is a foreign language specialty school. Students enrolled in the foreign language program begin earning high school credits in foreign language starting in 6th grade.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Parkside Middle School has programs in place for students who have not tested well with basic reading and math skills. We have three full-time remediation teachers. We also offer a variety of after-school programs to assist students who are having academic struggles.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES & SPORTS

Parkside Middle offers a full array of athletic teams for boys and girls. We also have over 25 after-school clubs for students to join. All students are eligible to participate in the sports and club programs as long as their academic and conduct grades meet county-established standards.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Parkside has a very active PTO. Monthly meetings are held and a wide variety of family-oriented activities are held throughout the year. Parents are also encouraged to become involved with the Advisory Council.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?

Parkside Middle School is fully accredited and has been recognized as a School of Excellence.
