| ABOUT PARKSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL |
Parkside Middle School opened its doors in 1963 as a combination elementary and junior high school housing 1500 students in grades K-9. A 3-year renovation was completed when Signal Hill Elementary opened and Parkside became strictly a middle school. Communities Served: Students come to Parkside primarily from Bennett Elementary, Signal Hill Elementary, Yorkshire Elementary, and Loch Lomond Elementary boundaries. |
| SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
Parkside Middle School is a foreign language specialty school. Students enrolled in the foreign language program begin earning high school credits in foreign language starting in 6th grade. |
| OTHER PROGRAMS |

Parkside Middle School has programs in place for students who have not tested well with basic reading and math skills. We have three full-time remediation teachers. We also offer a variety of after-school programs to assist students who are having academic struggles. |
| EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES & SPORTS |

Parkside Middle offers a full array of athletic teams for boys and girls. We also have over 25 after-school clubs for students to join. All students are eligible to participate in the sports and club programs as long as their academic and conduct grades meet county-established standards. |
| OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT |

Parkside has a very active PTO. Monthly meetings are held and a wide variety of family-oriented activities are held throughout the year. Parents are also encouraged to become involved with the Advisory Council. |
