ABOUT PATTIE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Pattie is one of a very few schools in the county to occupy two buildings.  The original building, Washington-Reid, was named for Marian Washington, an advocate for school age children, and Marjorie Reid, who donated the land.

The second building replaced the Washington-Reid building and is named in honor of John F. Pattie, Sr., a former school board member and community leader in Dumfries.  As the area expanded, Washington-Reid was reopened to accommodate the kindergarten and first grade students, while students in second through fifth grades continue to attend the Pattie building.

COMMUNITIES SERVED

Grayson Village, Brittany, Stockbridge, Montclair, Forest Park and Lake Crest.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Pattie offers an in-house gifted program.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Pattie has a very supportive Parent-Teacher Cooperative (P.T.C.O.) whose members contribute time, energy and funds to the school program.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?

Pattie's staff and community are very proud of its 26-year history of achievement and the performance of its students.  In the past 26 years, student achievement has consistently exceeded county and state performance levels.
