ABOUT SINCLAIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Sinclair Elementary School is named for Charles A. Sinclair, Sr.  Mr. Sinclair was a leading citizen of Manassas who served as the Prince William county treasurer for more than twenty-five years, as well as the mayor of Manassas and Chairman of Crestar Bank.  In 1970 it housed students from Westgate and Sudley communities.

COMMUNITIES SERVED

Country Scene, Coverstone, Ball Fords Road, Williamson Boulevard, Campbell Trace, Carlysle Station and a portion of the Westgate and Sudley communities.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Sinclair's curriculum focuses on basic education.  Innovations in education are used as supplements and not as replacement for the basic skills.

Enrichment Programs
A gifted program is in place for students in grades kindergarten through five.  Students in grades kindergarten through three receive enriched instruction at Sinclair.  Sinclair's students who are identified as gifted in the fourth and fifth grade receive services at Bennett Elementary School one day a week.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES & SPORTS

Fifth grade students can participate in a stringed instrument instructional program. A tutorial program is offered to assist students with their homework and to contribute to the development of their basic skills.  Scouting and community service opportunities are also available.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Opportunities at Sinclair include the Parent Teachers Association, mentoring and a Community Volunteer Program.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?

We at Sinclair Elementary provide a stimulating environment for students to acquire the essential basic instructional skills. Sinclair offers a friendly, receptive atmosphere where students can and do learn.
