| ABOUT SUDLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL |
|
Built in 1971-72, Sudley Elementary School was the first open concept school in Prince William County. Sudley is located on 14 acres of land in the Sudley community of Manassas. The more than 800 acres that comprise the community were originally part of the historic Ben Lomond Farm. The Ben Lomond stone mansion, built in 1836, was used as a Confederate hospital during the Civil War. The farm was included in the 6,730-acre lower Bull Run tract, patented in 1724, by Robert "King" Carter in the name of his son Robert. On August 27, 1972, 800 students in grades one through five entered Sudley School. This year the school will educate 512 students. |
