West Gate Elementary School serves the communities of West Gate, Iron Gate and Fairmont.
West Gate is home to Head Start ( pre K through grade 5), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), learning disabled classes, EMR, and classes for students who require occupational therapy and physical therapy. The school also houses a strings program for fifth grade students, and Title I.
Breakfast is offered for at- risk children. West Gate students enjoy instruction in art, music, and physical education, library classes, and a bilingual extended-day kindergarten program
West Gate students are involved in the Student Government Association and after-school clubs, including reading, math, art, Spanish, fitness and computer.
West Gate parents can participate in English classes, advisory council, PTO, parent community information nights, and computer classes designed especially for them.
West Gate has a widely diverse population of children who come from many different cultural heritages.
