Jeanette Brown opened the school in the newly developed Westridge community. Prior to the construction of Westridge, the land had been used by local nurseries. The opening of Westridge relieved overcrowding at nearby Springwoods Elementary.
Westridge, Sycamore Ridge, River Falls, Cannon Bluff, Hampton Ridge, Occoquan Overlook, Occoquan Club, Laurel Hills, The Glen, and Glen Oaks.

Knights of the Round Table (KORT) is our student council; we have active patrols for walkers and on the school bus; mentoring/basketball with Gar-FieldHigh School; and WKNT, our morning news program.
The PTO has very active volunteers who tutor, make copies, and do secretarial work for the teachers. Volunteers also help with the school book store and RAH Club.
The teachers at Westridge are extremely dedicated to their students. We now have full day kindergarten and a full day ESOL program.
