ABOUT OSBOURN PARK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Osbourn Park opened in 1975 to replace the “old” Osbourn High School.  Shortly after the opening the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park formed their own school divisions.  The school was originally named after Eugenia Osbourn a longtime educator from Manassas

Communities Served: All communities in the Mid-County area of Prince William

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Students Osbourn Park is an Advanced Placement (A.P.) school with The Biotechnology Center as our major specialty program.  We offer numerous Advanced Placement courses in all subject areas that are open to all students.  The Biotechnology Center is a four- year program of student for academically motivated students with interests in health sciences and related fields.  This rigorous program of studies emphasizes the broad understanding of theory and the application of science to real world issues.  Additionally, Osbourn Park is home to a successful Naval Junior ROTC program, Automotive Technology Center, and Practical Nursing.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Osbourn Park runs activity busses four days a week to allow our students the opportunity to stay after school and participate in many special programs, clubs, sports, and enrichment activities.  Free tutoring is provided in Math, English, & Spanish by faculty members after school on the days the activity bus runs.  Additionally, our National Honor Society students initiate peer-to-peer tutoring in many areas.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Osbourn Park offers over 50 clubs, activities and sports that cover a wide array of areas.    Our athletic teams compete in the Cedar Run District, the Northwest Region, and the Virginia High School League.  Students are able to find an organization, club, activity, or sport that suits their interests.  We encourage students to be involved in our school outside of the classroom as these interests support the overall development of young people.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Parents are always welcome at our school and there are many opportunities for involvement.  The Principal’s Advisory Council (P.A.C.) meets monthly to discuss the School’s strategic plan, the school budget, and other pertinent issues that shape the vision of Osbourn Park.  There are numerous other booster organizations that support various school clubs and activities.  Our Athletic Booster Club is extremely active and the envy of many other schools.  This club replaces uniforms every two years; has funded a renovation of practice and game fields; provides coaches with the appropriate gear and apparel, and in general makes sure that our student-athletes and coaches get treated in a world class manner.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?

Osbourn Park Senior High SchoolOsbourn Park is a seven (7) time School of Excellence award winner.  We are the only school in Prince William County to have this distinction.  Last school year, Mike & Kathy Holupka, parents of three children that graduated (’86, ’90, ’02) from Osbourn Park made a $500,000 donation to the school in the form of a 4,000 square foot free standing fitness center.
