High School Mathematics
The Virginia Standards of Learning form the foundation for a strong Prince William County Middle School Program that is designed to continue students' development of mathematical fluency, problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to communicate mathematically.
These courses aim to prepare students for life, the work force, trade schools, and institutions of higher learning. The course topics include: algebra, calculus, computers/computer programming, discrete math, functions, geometry, personal living and finance, probability, statistics, and trigonometry. Many high schools have specialty programs which are done in conjunction with these courses and the state curriculum.
