Valedictorian, Rohan Hosuru
Battlefield HS Valedictorian Rohan Hosuru

Rohan Hosuru, Battlefield High School valedictorian, starts his journey in medicine this fall at the University of Virginia, where he intends to study biomedical engineering. Rohan says his passion for medicine began at just 8 years old, when his grandmother underwent knee surgery. He said, “Before that, I thought people were invincible, but I then learned that everyone was vulnerable to injury and disease. Rather than being scared, I wanted to learn how people were able to recover from their ailments so that I could help people like my grandmother.”  After UVA, Rohan plans to pursue medical school, where he aspires to become a neurosurgeon. Rohan also attended The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park.
