MUSIC MISSION STATEMENT
Through participation in music programs in Prince William County Schools, students will obtain knowledge, skills and understanding to demonstrate mastery of musical skills and concepts as performers, composers, and consumers of the art form. Students will understand music through the context of culture, music history and music theory. They will be risk takers, creative problem solvers and creators of music. Students will be able to make informed artistic judgments about their own work and the work of others. They will develop a sense of aesthetics by responding to the affective and intellectual qualities of music and to the role of music in the 21st century.
