Education Innovators Eligible for Governor’s Award

Governor Terence R. McAuliffe is seeking nominations for the inaugural Governor’s Awards for Excellence and Innovation.  Recognizing the efforts of outstanding education professionals, teams of professionals, community partnerships, schools, and school divisions these awards will be given in the following five categories: Innovation in Education, Community Partnerships and Collaboration, Supporting School Readiness, Preparing Students for the New Virginia Economy, and Closing the Achievement Gap. Entries must be submitted by September 22.

Nominees must be employed by, or are a formal partner of, a Virginia public school or school division, and winners will be notified in early October and recognized at an awards ceremony in Richmond.
