Forest Park High School plans Suicide Awareness Walk

Fourth Annual Suicide Walk LogoThe Forest Park High School Suicide Awareness Walk will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, beginning at the Forest Park High gym. The mission of the Suicide Awareness Walk is to bring attention to the growing issue of mental illness across the country, and give help to those who need it, as well as end the stigma attached to mental illness.

Participants will walk from Forest Park High School to Hylton High School and back to Forest Park, a six-mile walk. Scheduled guest speakers include U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly, State Senator Jeremy McPike, and Virginia Secretary of Education Atif Qarni.
