“On her way to Mars” is how “Today” hosts introduced 13-year-old Forest Park student Eleanor Sigrest this morning. Sigrest, winner last year of a national science prize of $25,000, is a budding rocket scientist who plans to be the first to go to Mars, even if it is a one-way trip. She won the science prize as an eighth-grader at Benton Middle School. Sigrest, currently a freshman, is enrolled in the school’s Information Technology specialty program and is active in robotics, among other interests. See story.
