The Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Hampton City Public Schools will be the new Director of Communications Services for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS). Long-time school communications professional Diana Gulotta will assume her new PWCS role on November 15. She fills the vacancy left by last month’s promotion of former Communications Director Phil Kavits to Associate Superintendent for Communications and Technology Services.

Gulotta has a long list of successes during her four-year tenure at the 20,000-student Hampton City Division, and throughout more than two decades of communicating complex educational issues to school and community audiences.

“We are excited to have a professional with Diana’s school communication experience and expertise to build on the foundation of our current successes,” said Kavits. “We look forward to the ideas and insights she can bring to telling the stories of PWCS achievements, opportunities, and challenges to students, staff, parents, and community members, all in support of Providing A World-Class Education.”

Gulotta’s background includes extensive experience in print, video, online, and social media communications. She is as adept at sharing good news and providing vital student information as she is in dealing with the occasional media challenges or budget. She will lead PWCS Community Relations, Media Production, and Web and Social Media units.

Prior to coming to Hampton City Schools, Gulotta served as the Assistant Superintendent for Communications and Media Relations in the Hazelwood School District in Florissant, MO. She also worked as a Special Communications Assistant to the Superintendent in McKinney, TX.

An award-winning school public relations pro, Gulotta holds a Master of Arts in Communications Management from Webster University in Saint Louis. She earned her undergraduate degree in radio/TV and journalism at Stephen F. Austin University in Texas.
