Four students graduating from Unity Reed High School in 2024

Dear PWCS Families, Employees, and Community,

Congratulations, Class of 2024! We are so proud of our graduates, who are donning their caps and walking across the stage to receive their well-deserved diplomas. We have a busy and joyous weekend coming up, and I look forward to seeing our students recognized for their amazing achievement.

A further congratulations to three PWCS principals, Jim Dutrow from Lake Ridge Middle School, Kaitlyn Engelmeier-Foor from Porter Traditional School, and Heather Goode from Sinclair Elementary School, on their selection in the Cahn Distinguished Principals Fellowship for 2024-25.

The Cahn Fellows program is nationally recognized for excellence in education and supports strong school leaders to improve education for all students. We are proud of our principals as they are the second cohort in PWCS to be bestowed this honor. I invite you to read more about this prestigious and exciting opportunity for our principals and the PWCS community.

Our Commitment 2: Positive Climate and Culture highlights our dedication to creating a positive climate and culture for everyone. Before May concludes, I want to recognize Better Hearing and Speech Month and the transformative work of our teachers, certified interpreters, and speech language pathologists, who ensure students with hearing and speech impairments are learning and achieving at high levels as well as feeling included in the classroom.

The month of June is nationally recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. In PWCS, we celebrate and honor all students and staff, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation as PWCS is committed to a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment for every student and employee every day.

As a reminder, June 7 is the last day of school and will be an early-release day.

Sincerely,
