Nonprofit project teaches life lessons to Fred M. Lynn Middle School students

In Jonathan Alsheimer’s seventh grade history classes at Fred M. Lynn Middle School, the industrialization curriculum is paired with a group project requiring students to create a mock business. However, reflecting on a personal experience inspired Alsheimer to make a change to the project this school year. Students instead created a mock nonprofit organization. The lessons from the activity were then used when the students, Alsheimer, and Thomas Annunziata, a math teacher at Fred Lynn Middle, created From Kids to Kids, a nonprofit project that solicits donations to make gift boxes for children.
